The "talker"

“THE TALKER”

Have you ever spent a day with a sanguine? They have a code called "fun",

Their outgoing nature is what I would like to call "contagious"

The first one I ever met is my own favorite cousin, we were quite young and I was this petite, shy and quiet girl that could not understand why he would never settle down. We would navigate the small town in a jiffy, eating, talking (actually i was quiet the whole time), and more talking and I think I met a million of his friends and he would find it very easy and quick to make friends. And he had friends from all age groups you can think of
And he loved to laugh and have fun, he still does. Hah! just like my young sister cum twin, we have to some extent named her the laughing machine

These people have always surrounded my life, and I think I love how they bring joy to every soul. But last Monday I got to spend with the most amazing sanguine (san) ever, my high school desk mate knows how to lighten up a place, I even told her to run for one of the students' post. She is a unique San I must say, and this resonates from her peaceful nature, her spirituality brightens her face, makes her beautiful and represents what she is inside and this was getting to me. We had lots of walks, and talks, and laughs and she just had a new roommate but got along pretty well with her. I admired her chemistry with human beings. With her you can agree that laughter is indeed the best medicine.

When I was younger, I loved "hide and seek" game because of sanguines. They were good at suggesting and exploring anywhere and following them was an assurance that you will not get caught ( well except when they realize the seeker has given up they would peep and try to get the seeker to run towards the wall to declare them found, so making others run was fun for the game). So one day, my family had these traditional get together where we would eat many types of food, as children we would get to the play ground and the hide and seek game was the number one on the list. And no one cared about their full stomachs, I for one found it hard to run and hide and seek normally prepared us for the "icho" game that would precede to bid each other goodbye to our different homes. So on this particular day, we were about 20 children, over 10 being my cousins and the rest were the neighbours' kids. One of my cousins was the fun initiator "so to say" but she had one weakness that almost got us into big trouble this particular day. My cousin lets name her Jill, suggested the perfect game!! I mean "jump rope" wouldn't do, no one had the strength to jump after over eating, "Kati" had alot of bias as the strong players teamed up together against the younger players. So "hide and seek" was perfect for the evening. So there we were, and even more children joined in and the last child to be recruited was the seeker. And there he was; he hid his face against the wall and we started running, anywhere and everywhere and Jill, my sisters, and one of my other cousins and I went the same way; she was our "wing man" no one could find us (Hahaha! Its still a good feeling till today) So Jill lead us to a house whose back door was opened and there was enough space for all of us, after squeezing in that is. And we closed the door and giggled at how geniuses we were. We talked and declared how we will never be found and our voices got abit louder until we could suddenly see ourselves; someone turned on the lights!! O oh we were in someone's house. Shush!! we all shushed several times at each other. And of course the final opening of the inner door by the owner. That was the first time I saw adorable puppy faces on human beings I mean we had the most innocent, honest look ever and even when the lady asked what we were doing there and called us thieves nothing could beat our puppy faces except Jill's sudden outburst of tears. Gosh!! she cried and cried and cried, till I asked Jill why she was crying. And she said "we are going to prison" (tutapelekwa jela ya watoto) Did I mention Jill is a drama queen?
Even the lady who found us laughed and let us go before she changed her mind and report us to our parents as she had threatened and our seeker saw us approach and tapped the wall and we lost. Jill however was frantic but still wanted the game to proceed.

I learnt how sanguines can make one's lifetime, even for themselves. Life's stresses would never be their excuse for dying or giving up. Their greatest weakness is being unproductive, and usually are empty promisers. So long us fun is calling out there, deadlines are never met by them nor promises fulfilled. But if they identify these as their weakness, they can delegate their duties to people they trust to keep them on check. If you have a sanguine close, learn how to make them meet their obligations productively and if you are one, the world loves you and that is a fact that makes you different and simply human!!!

Sanguine people normally can inhibit a second type of personality temperament that is less dominant for example you can meet people who are Sanguine-melancholic, sanguine-phlegmatic or sanguine-choleric

These demonstrate themselves in the following ways:

1.      San/Chol-This is the strongest “extrovert” of all the blends because both primary types are extroverted. They are people-oriented and enthusiastic but with the resolutions of the Choleric tempering the lack of organization of the Sanguine. He is almost always a sports enthusiast and is ideal in sales. He can talk too much and can be obnoxious if threatened. The forgetfulness of the Sanguine and the caustic nature of the Choleric may make them hurtful without realizing it.

2.      San/Mel – They are highly emotional people whose moods can fluctuate from highs to lows and back again quickly. The Sanguine’s outgoing nature often allows the Melancholy's critical nature to surface too easily. It is very easy for a San/Mel to "get  down" on themselves, and to realize their potential, it is best that they work with others

3.    San/Phleg – The overpowering outgoing nature of the Sanguine is tempered by the gracious Phlegmatic. These are extremely happy and carefree individuals who live to help people. They would not purposely hurt anyone but they must fight a lack of workplace motivation; they would rather visit than work.
